I have chosen several artists to look at for the change of my NLP, these are primarily artists who use pencils, graphite and inks. First Up in Illustration by Holly!
First off I've noticed she has quite a bit of fanart piece on her website which I found I was fascinated by, she has created an image of the character pinhead from the horror movie Hellraiser.
Arwen from Lord of the rings film, I quite like the textured paper she has used in this image, it seems to add to the dimension of the image, I also love the strong highlights in the image, It's something I am yet to get to grips with, I have started using highlights but not so drastically so this work is an inspiration.
This is another of her works, her version of the animated character Princess Mononoke, originally created by the japanese artist Hayao Miyazaki. I like the idea that instead of just recreating the original anime image, she has used her imagination and created her version of the character.
This would be a route I'm very interested in.
