Juliette Belmonte is another artist who for this project I am very intrigued and inspired by, her love of textures combined with her meditative/spiritual side, help her to create beautiful and quirky portraits of both male and females.
When I look at her work I feel like i've been transported back in time to victorian times, the lace textures, the gentlemen clothing, and the colours make you feel like you are are there with the characters.
She uses both models in the flesh and from imagination which is impressive, I admire anyone with such an imagination, this makes each piece as individual as the last. I like that she tries to incorporate organic elements into each piece along with objects she finds in the street or at home.
I am inspired by how the portraits even with their burst of bright colours and patterns still stay elegant, feminine, strong and in no way vulgar or overdone, it is certainly one of the way I wish my work to be seen as.
