Hypothetical Live Outcome P9

If i'm honest with myself, I'm not entirely sure on where my art would stand in the world, focusing on portraits, fanart, fantasy pieces I am drawn more towards the idea of publications. Maybes zines or comic work.

I decided to put the works I have completed so far into hypothetical spaces to see how they look.

I started with where I realistically see my work being published, in magazines and I feel the images fit quite well within this setting from the get go, I instantly love how they are presented and I had an idea of perhaps creating a magazine or website of my own dedicated to the fanart industry whether it be paintings, digital, sculpture, cosplay or drawings.

I understand that there would be legalities to work out as the work that would appear would be interpretations of other people's work or fictional characters on screen and therefore would require the permission of the person or subject in question.

I then played around with the possibility of having my work showcased outside in a more urban setting, but because of the simpleness of the drawing it fails to sit in with the surroundings, although it does have the advantage of standing out so it's more noticable. Maybes that's a better idea than having a piece of work fitting into an area and possibly being overlooked.

I then moved my work into the more traditional setting of an open gallery, with an industrial feel to it, concrete and white walls, the image I had in my head of my work sitting inside an art gallery is not what is in the above image, I honestly feel it sits incredibly well. The middle image in my eyes sits better than the other two pieces because it's less recognisable and is an original piece, again going back to that need for new art to be unique in today's society.

This time I chose to take down the other 2 images and just leave my original piece, and I love how it looks, the single image stands out more than when it did with more by its side. The thing I don't feel sits right is the colouring of the gallery, the industrial setting i feel just offsets the grey tones in the image better than a hardwood floor.

I then went back to the dark settings with a black and white image, using white frames and the angle of the shot makes me feel excited about the work I am creating, the way it is set up feels like a process series of where my work is heading.

from the beginning of the sketch to how it has developed, this idea to me gives the viewer a glimpse into how I work, who I am and how I am developing my practice.
