Own Artwork Reflection 2 P15

The story I want to tell is a story of the first ever relationship I had with a boy, it's a chapter in my life that brought happiness, hope, love, tragedy, heartache and a lot of confusion.

I am starting out with A3 images to see how they feel to me, I would like to think that this body of work would still work within the zine style but I will look at that in more detail when I cross that bridge.

I have begun this body of work with the first meeting, a basic outline of graphite on mountboard as I really like the way the graphite moved on the last piece I created of Sykkuno.

The next image is that of when the relationship began, the closeness that developed between us, the comfort, the teenage romance if you will, again with a soft easy to change outline to start with.

I decided to experiment with how the final image might look before I went any further, I planned on using an abstract expressionism colour theory as the backgrounds to explore the emotions I felt at that particular chapter of the relationship, starting with yellow to show excitement and happiness.

Once the top layer was complete I took a step back and decided quite quickly I didn't see those emotions or feelings with that colour. I used a fineliner as an outline around the whole image as I liked how this looked in the fanart work so I decided to utilise it again.

I decided to move onto the next image before experimenting more with the first, this led to me using just the graphite and the fineliner outline. Once the image was complete I really liked looking at the contrast between the 2 mediums as well as the cut off comic style lines within the image.

The next image I felt needed to be simple, we got engaged, the image represents coming together forever.

I felt I needed to include an image of how our relationship grew and how it felt like he was my soulmate, my lifeline to happiness ever after.

The images so far have been stirring up old wounds and emotions so I have chosen to work on the other pieces away from the blog so it eases the pressure, so watch this space.
