Negotiated Learning Plan for year 2 - subject to change!
What interests you or drives you?
I'd say I find myself interested in sculpture of figures and faces, but in a more fantasy/spiritual sense e.g magic, myth, dystopian, alternative beauty but i'm one for starting the process with a detailed graphite drawing, moving into a painting and studying the image to see what I need to turn it into a 3D piece.
2. What materials do you think might best serve your investigations? What media/areas possible exhibition sites/participatory project opportunities you intend to explore and research?
I want to look at various sculpting techniques such as clay, resin, carving, casting, metal, wire use in more detail and i think learning how to mix various materials would be a plus along with working on a bigger scale for the base work.
I want to start by looking at ways to increasing a social media following, this simply being because at the moment times are strange and confusing, so more and more people are logging time in the online world rather than the real one, and I believe this would help me to create even a small business online.
I also want to look into smaller gallery settings like pop up galleries, I find in a smaller more intimate setting, people aren't in such a hurry, so they spend more time admiring the work around them, this also makes it easier as the artist to interact with those that attend.
3. How will you measure your success?
I will be making a list of tasks and goals in my journey that I wish to achieve, and my success will be measured by how many I complete and how much I learn.
In an art career sense it will be when I'm able to continually create artworks I'm happy and proud of, when I'm content putting my work on display for the public, and when I'm finally able to talk confidently about each piece I create instead of being fearful that people will be bored of what I have put out into the world.
