So again, I have used the maskign tape method to protect the sketch as best as possible, I was thinking about using masking fluid as I have primed my canvas but if I remember rightly the surface becomes waterproof and is difficult to paint over.
Again you can see why I wanted to protect the initial sketch, this gives me the room to just work with the paint without being restricted, it also helped me with blending the colours and redoing them when I wasn't happy.
I chose earthy colours with Taurus being an earth sign, I used burnt umber, ochre, brown, sap green, forest green, yellow, white and black acrylics.
I don't want the background to be sharp and promounced but more faded and soft, Taurus is an emotional and strong sign with that hidden sadness and I feel the softness will add to this protrayal.
The masking tape unveil isn't as bad as the Aries piece but still a few little gaps I don't mind so much, I quite like the background on this piece so far, this is of course the first attempt, I may go over it at a later point in time but right now i'm comfortable with the start.
